The world of the Great White Shark baby (Carcharodon carcharias) is exciting and interesting. Closely beneath the water surface, the little shark is exploring the area off Gyser Rock. (00015355)

Sechs Seemeilen vor der Kueste von Gansbaai, ganz in der Naehe von Dyer Island und Gyser Rock ist ein wenige Tage alter Weißer Hai dicht unter der Wasseroberflaeche unterwegs. Weiße Haie sind nach der Geburt – sie sind zu diesem Zeitpunkt 1,10 bis 1,60 Meter lang - bereits voll entwickelt und von Beginn an auf sich gestellt. Ihre Nahrung besteht aus kleineren Fischen und Kalmaren. Jungtiere sind sehr vorsichtig und suchen sofort das Weite wenn ein ausgewachsener Hai auftaucht. Nur wenige Jungtiere erreichen das Erwachsenenalter.
