Pictures of a baby Cheetah by a private Cheetah breeding station near the Addo Elephant Park and cheetahs in the Kapama private game reserve.(Seite 1)The Gepard has very long runs, is the fastest land mammal and can reach a speed of up to 120 km/h. The number of wild cheetahs has decreased dramatically. The reason for this is the steady decline in habitat, the catching of animals for zoos and zoos and the trade in their skins. The Gepard is also threatened by farmers and livestock breeders. In the eyes of the farmers, cheetahs endanger their herds and get shot. The Gepard is almost extinct in Asia and in Africa the Gepards from Northwest Africa, South Africa and Asia are genetically highly endangered. The only remaining population Asian cheetahs lives in Iran and is acutely threatened. The Hoedspruit Research & Breeding Centre (Kapama Private Game Reserve) not only contains bred cheetahs, but also cheetahs delivered by farmers, which are kept and released later.Acinonyx jubatus IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
