Bontebok live in small packs in open grass savannas as well as tree or Bush savannas. In the Bontebok National Park in South Africa, I met this young impressive Bontebok (Pied Buck) in the early morning. In 1926, Pied Bucks were almost extinct. Less than 30 animals had survived. Protection measures have saved these beautiful antelopes, but they are still threatened by extinction. Pied Bucks live in small prides in the open grass savannah as well as in tree or bush savannahs.Damaliscus dorcasi IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
