Impressive images of white-tipped reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus) of the Shark Reef in the Beqa lagoon in Fiji. I've encountered these sharks at every dive. The whitetip reef shark has a gray-brown base color and reaches a max. Length of about 200 cm. What is striking is the white tip of the 1st dorsal fin and the tail fin. Together with the blacktip reef shark the whitetip reef shark on the Fiji reef is almost always to be found. Preferably, in the shallow waters of the coral reef. White tip reef sharks feed on mainly bony fish living on the reef.
